When you sync a session to the cloud, you don't want to be worrying about the multiple files that may need to be synced with the session - such as pieces of audio and video. In Gobbler 2.0, this is handled automatically by a feature called Gobbler Collect.
Gobbler Collect works invisibly - just drag and drop a session file from your DAW into the Gobbler 2.0 app, select to upload, and Gobbler will automatically parse that file to find everything else that needs to be uploaded with it. No need to move any files manually - Gobbler Collect automatically finds what it needs to, no matter where it is on your main or external hard drives.
When a collaborator downloads a session that was synced to Gobbler, the download will include a folder called "Gobbler Collect", including everything that was collected from the collaborator's computer.
Currently, Gobbler Collect works with the following DAWs:
- Apple Logic Pro X
- Ableton Live 9
- AVID Pro Tools 11
- PreSonus Studio One 2 & Studio One 3
And the following video editor
- Apple Final Cut Pro X
ok - i got gobbler and logc pro x 10.1
sync button does not work and there is no gobbler button in logic...
I get an error message when attempting to Backup to gobbler:
Error uploading project-Internal server error
I just tried this feature with Gobbler 2.0 and Studio One 3.3.3.
When dragging a .song file to the gobbler desktop app gobbler will only upload exactly that song file. Related media files are neither collected nor uploaded which ends up in a corrupted project.
Dragging the songs folder to the gobbler app will upload the entire folder without any collecting magic. So currently there is nothing more than simply uploading a project folder to dropbox.
